Grocery stores in Waco — recommendations?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but You can expect to pay around $1,098 for rent here. With a population of 142K, Waco is a mid-size city. Poverty rate is 15.2%, which is higher than I expected. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What would you do? The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Salt Lake City it's solid.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much competitive but now it's average.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'm a data analyst and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
