What Waconia does better than anywhere else

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 5 months ago and Rent is about $1,299/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 44--F, so bundle up in winter. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Would love some local perspective. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is underrated in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.
