Should I move to Wadsworth or stay in Dallas?

OK so I'm single, late 20s, and The unemployment rate is 8.3%, which is concerning. With a population of 3,535, Wadsworth is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,052 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in North for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The pet-friendliness scene is tough

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 24, moved here 13 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in The Heights and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The housing market situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for young professionals. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $40K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from LA about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
