You can expect to pay around $711 for rent here. The median home value here is around $129,200, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $47,137, which feels on the lower side for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Westside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Seattle about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The healthcare is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
