Moving to Wagoner -what should I know?

Hi all, I grew up here but left for a while. It's a a small town city with about 7,934 people. Household incomes average around $58,206 in Wagoner. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Let me know your thoughts. Any help is appreciated. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Diego about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..
