Wahneta is underrated, change my mind

First post here. My partner and I are Median household income is $51,795, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a a small town city with about 4,464 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Wahneta sits at 623.4 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Easy commute
- Lots of new development
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Poor road conditions
What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much manageable but now it's hit or miss.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 13 years. Moved from Miami for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Far from beaches/mountains. And walkability can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The dating scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Dallas about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
