What I wish I knew before living in Wailuku
So, I'm originally from Sacramento and With a population of 15,754, Wailuku is a small town. Rent is about $1,747/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $781,700 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

- Low taxes
Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
Thoughts? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development.
