Cost of living reality check -Waipahu

Hey everyone, Household incomes average around $98,633 in Waipahu. Median household income is $98,633, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Waipahu sits at 232.1 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Thoughts? Any help is appreciated. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in Westside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The community vibe scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..
