Living in Waipahu -the reality

Median household income is $98,633, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 39,871 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 8 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
