Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $106,164, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $2,248 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Has anyone dealt with this? Any help is appreciated. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Salt Lake City it's pretty good.
