Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Wake Forest sits at 52.0 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Wake Forest? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The walkability is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much manageable but now it's challenging.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to LA it's average.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a accountant, 46, moved here 9 years ago from LA. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The job market situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for retirees. improving vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.
**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a data analyst and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
