Wake Forest quality of life -am I missing something?

I'm single, late 50s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Wake Forest sits at 52.0 per 100K. Rent is about $1,458/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 51,199 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Worth the trade-offs? Appreciate any input. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
