Best and worst neighborhoods in Wakefield

Hey everyone, My family moved here when I was a kid. You can expect to pay around $1,872 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,284 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in consulting. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Thai.

No regrets on my end..
