Is Wakefield a good place to live?

Hi all, Been living here since 2017. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 6 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..
