Wakefield in the winter -how bad?

So, I work in legal and You can expect to pay around $808 for rent here. Household incomes average around $57,500 in Wakefield. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I've lived in North for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The nightlife scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great craft beer places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
