Grocery stores in Walden -recommendations?

Hi all, Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Moved here from LA about 14 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to food scene but No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 39, moved here 12 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in West and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The school system situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for remote workers. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $50K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
