Is Waldorf a good place to retire?
My wife and I are planning to retire in the next few years. We're considering Waldorf because of the weather. Weather is moderate — about 59F average.
Cost of living looks pretty reasonable. How's the healthcare situation? Any retiree communities?

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. University District and University District are perfectly safe.

Don't sleep on Midtown. It's up and coming and still affordable.
