Moved here 12 years ago for work. Waldorf has a small but active network for young professionals. Income levels are solid here — median is around $115,453. Rent runs about $1,949/month for a typical apartment. The social scene is better than I expected. Would I recommend it? Yes, with some caveats..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 11 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in The Heights for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The walkability scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
