Just moved to Waldron, any tips?

Crime rate is something to consider -Waldron sits at 450.2 per 100K. Poverty rate is 13.9%, which is around average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Eastside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The public transit scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 7 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely tough and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (East) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
