Waldwick quality of life -am I missing something?

Hi all, I'm originally from Cincinnati and It's a a small town city with about 10,090 people. Rent is about $3,189/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $576,200, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $576,200 on average. Median household income is $155,526, which feels pretty solid for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Walkable downtown
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- High property taxes
- Limited cultural events
Worth the trade-offs? Any help is appreciated. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Came here for school and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The safety is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.
