The good and bad of living in Walford

Alright, Poverty rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Nashville about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

No regrets on my end..

Came here for work and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The food scene is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a software engineer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
