How much do you pay for rent in Walla Walla?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 48-year-old sales rep and Median household income is $65,493, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,176/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $65,493 in Walla Walla. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thoughts? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 44, moved here 11 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in Eastside and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The outdoor recreation situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for retirees. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much growing but now it's improving.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Meadowbrook area are average. Kids love it here.
