Raising a family in Walla Walla -thoughts?

Alright, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $356,600 on average. The median home value here is around $356,600, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Walla Walla sits at 345.0 per 100K. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? TIA! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The walkability is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.
