Is Wallington good for remote workers?

Been meaning to ask this. Born and raised here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Dallas about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is tough.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is decent

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
