Best and worst neighborhoods in Walnut

So, You can expect to pay around $3,120 for rent here. Rent is about $3,120/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,857 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 14 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 5 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Denver about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Chicago about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.
