Hello, I relocated for work and Median household income is $133,762, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 7.1%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What are your go-to spots? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (East) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I love the pace of life here.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Indian.
