Hey, Crime rate is something to consider -Walnut Creek sits at 170.1 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 69,790 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 13 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
