Couple moving to Walnut Creek from out of state

I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $1,031,100 on average. Rent is about $2,613/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I wrong here?

I've lived in Greenfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 15 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Maple Ridge area are excellent. Kids love it here.
