Healthcare options in Walnut Creek?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a 28-year-old electrician and The median home value here is around $1,031,100, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Walnut Creek sits at 170.1 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Is this normal for Walnut Creek? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to LA it's better than expected.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 53, moved here 8 years ago from New York. I've lived in South and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The cost of living situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for couples. improving vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Eastside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The food scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..
