Autumn Bennett housing

Is it worth buying in Walnut Creek?

Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $2,613/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 69,790 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this?

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely excellent and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for school and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The cost of living is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
