Is Walnut Creek good for remote workers?

Longtime lurker here, Household incomes average around $135,665 in Walnut Creek. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 4 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Chicago about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
