Curious what people think. We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 6.6%, which is concerning. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in retail. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Phoenix it's surprisingly good.
