Is public transit usable in Walton?

Longtime lurker here, With a population of 5,513, Walton is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Any advice would be great. Thanks for reading. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 5 years. Moved from Houston for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is solid - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Limited entertainment options. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from New York about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
