Moving from Dallas to Wanaque next month

Hello, I'm single, late 40s, and Homes are going for about $366,400 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Wanaque sits at 34.0 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What do you all think? The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Nashville about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..
