Alright, Is this normal for Wanchese? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 11 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
