Is it worth buying in Wantagh?
Just moved here 18 months ago and It's a a small town city with about 17,964 people. Rent is about $2,191/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $2,191 for rent here. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
Pros:
- Good schools
- Easy commute
- Plenty of shopping options
Cons:
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
- Far from major airports
- Not enough green space
Has anyone dealt with this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
