Couple moving to Warr Acres from out of state

Hey, It's a a small town city with about 10,437 people. Poverty rate is 10.0%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $925 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a sales manager and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Riverside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
