Anyone work in healthcare in Warren?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm originally from San Diego and Average temperature is around 51°F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $63,741, which feels about average for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What are your go-to spots?

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much manageable but now it's excellent.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is solid in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely solid and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (West) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor recreation is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been here 15 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
