Crime rate is something to consider — Warren sits at 481.2 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much.

I've lived in Uptown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The nightlife scene is improving
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in South area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much reasonable but now it's hit or miss.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in marketing. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
