I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $92,400, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $33,687, which feels on the lower side for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Has anyone dealt with this? Cheers. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Denver about 10 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2024 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
