Moving to Warrenton -what should I know?

Hey, I'm single, late 20s, and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a small town city with about 6,297 people. You can expect to pay around $1,283 for rent here. With a population of 6,297, Warrenton is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 38, moved here 10 years ago from Portland. I've lived in Old Town and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The weather situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for singles. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $70K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
