Is Warrenton worth it salary-wise?

Hey folks, I've been here for 1 years and Crime rate is something to consider -Warrenton sits at 140.3 per 100K. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $80,441, which feels pretty solid for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Would love some local perspective. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons
- The nightlife scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in legal. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
