Alright, I'm originally from Boston and It's a a small town city with about 14,232 people. Thoughts? Any help is appreciated.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Lakewood area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Houston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Definitely worth checking out..
