Curious what people think. Military spouse here. It's a a small town city with about 2,067 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What are your go-to spots? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

I've lived in Eastside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The walkability scene is average
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Austin about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
