Why I chose Warsaw over bigger cities

Anyone else feel this way? Been living here since 2011. Rent is about $826/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely underrated and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (East) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I love the pace of life here.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely excellent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (The Heights) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
