First post here. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $262,500, which seems about average. Median household income is $83,594, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in finance. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Uptown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2023 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 3 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
