Best neighborhoods in Washington under /mo?

Hey,

I work remote and chose Washington specifically for the lifestyle. The airport connections are decent which matters if you travel.

With a population of 672,079, the city has a {city_feel}. The weather averaging 58F year-round is {weather_feel}.

What I like:
- Nice downtown area
- Good schools in certain areas
- Good healthcare options

What I don't:
- Rising rent
- Hard to date here
- Road conditions
- Limited diversity in some areas

Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable. Cost of living is way cheaper compared to where I came from.

Born here, left for 10 years, came back. Honestly the biggest downside is {downside}.. The city has grown a lot.

Let me give you the perspective nobody asked for but everyone needs.

I've lived in Foggy Bottom, Navy Yard, and currently in Shaw. Each one feels like a different city honestly.

Rent comparison:
- Foggy Bottom: /mo for a 3-bed
- Navy Yard: about /mo
- Shaw: /mo but excellent

I feel like {city} is becoming more expensive without getting better.. The key is finding your neighborhood. Once you do, Washington really clicks.

We pay /mo in Georgetown for a 1-bed and honestly it's worth it. I've never felt unsafe walking around {hood} at night.

Renter's perspective: it's steep but the location is great. I'm in Woodley Park and it's great. Definitely shop around though.

OK let me break this down from someone who's been here a while.

Columbia Heights vs Adams Morgan: completely different vibes. Columbia Heights is more pretty good with a younger crowd and nightlife. Adams Morgan is established and better for couples.

Cost-wise, expect /mo minimum for anything decent in Columbia Heights. In Adams Morgan you can find stuff for /mo.

The weather took some getting used to but I actually love it now.. Downtown has improved dramatically since I first moved here.
