Is Washington a good place to live?
Longtime lurker here, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $724,600 on average. With a population of 672K, Washington is a major city. Poverty rate is 10.7%, which is around average. Household incomes average around $106,287 in Washington. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
Pros:
- Friendly people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Limited cultural events
Has anyone dealt with this? Appreciate any input. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
