Throwaway thought - I work remote and chose Washington specifically for the lifestyle. Property values in H Street Corridor went up 5% last year alone. The airport connections are great which matters if you travel.

Honestly it depends on what you prioritize. If walkability matters most, then yeah Washington is great. But if you need diversity, might want to look at Georgetown instead.

Let me give you the perspective nobody asked for but everyone needs.
I've lived in Columbia Heights, Brookland, and currently in Navy Yard. Each one feels like a different city honestly.
Rent comparison:
- Columbia Heights: /mo for a 3-bed
- Brookland: about /mo
- Navy Yard: /mo but solid
Traffic has gotten noticeably worse in the past year.. The key is finding your neighborhood. Once you do, Washington really clicks.

My experience has been different actually. I found that The {industry} scene here is really picking up.. Maybe it depends on which part of Washington you're in.

We pay /mo in Shaw for a 2-bed and I think it's fair for the area. I've never felt unsafe walking around {hood} at night.
