What surprised you most about Washington?

First post here. Average temperature is around 58°F, so the weather is moderate. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 5 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
